The Nationals put left-hander Ross Detwiler back on the 15-day disabled list this afternoon with a strained right hip flexor, shutting him down from pitching after he again injured the hip he’d had surgically repaired in February.
Detwiler was 0-2 with a 3.46 ERA in three starts, but struggled to compose himself after the Nationals’ defense made errors behind him. He allowed 13 runs in 13 innings, though only five of those runs were earned.
The Nationals officially put Jason Marquis back on the roster to take Detwiler’s spot. He’ll start this afternoon against the Dodgers.
