Zimmermann throws five shutout at Syracuse

Jordan Zimmermann, making what could be his final minor-league start before returning to the majors, was stellar again for Triple-A Syracuse tonight. He threw five shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk against Louisville. He struck out five, and according to a tweet from the Chiefs’ radio broadcasters, he retired 11 in a row at one point, letting one ball out of the infield.

It looks like Zimmermann is ready to be in the majors, and he should be soon. As we discussed earlier today, that’s going to leave the Nationals with some interesting decisions.
