Nationals extend contract with Single-A Hagerstown

The Nationals announced they have agreed to a two-year contract with Single-A Hagerstown, extending their relationship with their low A-ball affiliate. The South Atlantic League franchise, located about 70 miles northwest of Washington, has been a Nationals affiliate since 2007, and is reportedly being sold to a local ownership group formed with the Nationals’ help.

Like Single-A Potomac, Hagerstown has been a good affiliate for the Nationals because of its location; its proximity to both Washington and Double-A Harrisburg makes for easy scouting trips and convenient travel between rehab assignments.

With the announcement, the Nationals have all of their affiliates set for 2011.
