Lannan strong, Nats take 1-0 lead over Astros

VIERA, Fla. - Left-hander John Lannan is continuing to deal, and the Nationals have taken a 1-0 lead against the Houston Astros at Space Coast Stadium.

Lannan has faced the minimum number of hitters through five innings, allowing one hit and striking out three. Oswaldo Navarro singled with one down in the third, but was erased at first on a nifty pickoff throw by catcher Wilson Ramos.

With two down in the fourth, Ramos reached second on a two-base throwing error by shortstop Clint Barmes. Danny Espinosa followed with a double to the gap in left-center, plating Ramos for his team-leading 15th RBI.

UPDATE: The Astros have tied it at 1 in the top of the sixth. Navarro reached on a one-out walk, only the second base runner allowed by Lannan, and moved to second on a sacrifice by pitcher Henry Villar. Michael Bourn then singled Navarro in to tie it.
