Ryan Zimmerman out of Nationals’ lineup today against Mets

NEW YORK - Ryan Zimmerman, who appeared to jam his finger sliding headfirst into second base last night, is out of the Nationals’ lineup today against the Mets as the two teams finish their series as 1:10 p.m. We’ll have more on Zimmerman as it becomes available. Here are the lineups for both teams:

UPDATE AT 11:55 A.M.: It’s Zimmerman’s abdominal strain that’s causing him to sit today; he re-aggravated the injury while sliding into second base in the third inning last night. Zimmerman took an extra base while Jayson Werth went from first to third on his single, but the ball never came to second, so the slide was unnecessary. At any rate, he’ll sit for a couple days, at least. I’ve got more on the injury here.
