As of this afternoon, the Nationals are in fourth place in the NL East, the latest in the season they’ve been there since 2007. They’re also only 5 1/2 games out of the wild card race. It’s still unlikely they’ll go on a playoff run, and too soon to expect they’ve turned a corner. But is it too soon to dream?
That’s my question to you before tonight’s game - how soon do you allow yourself a quick peek at the standings and start composing scenarios that could put the Nationals in contention? Vote in the poll below, and in the comments section, let me know where you fall on the optimism scale.
