Chien-Ming Wang throws six shutout innings in latest rehab assignment

Chien-Ming Wang keeps rolling through his rehab assignment, and at this point, it seems hard to believe the right-hander won’t be in the majors soon.

He threw six shutout innings for Double-A Harrisburg on Thursday night, allowing six hits and no walks in the Senators’ win over Akron. Wang’s sinker touched 94 mph at least once, according to Senators broadcaster Terry Byrom, and he’s allowed only two runs in 18 rehab innings.

The Nationals don’t have room in their rotation for Wang at the moment, but if Jason Marquis is traded later this month, Wang is pitching well enough that it seems he could step in without a problem.
