PHOENIX - We’re in the fourth inning of the All-Star Game, the American League has taken a 1-0 lead and has put runners on first and second with two out. So naturally, manager Bruce Bochy called for Tyler Clippard.
Clippard’s entire role this season has been pitching out of jams; he’s only allowed five of 36 inherited runners to score. And the Nationals’ lone All-Star will try to do it here against even better competition.
More on his appearance shortly.
