The Nationals announced this morning they will play host to the Red Sox in an April 3 exhibition at Nationals Park, tuning up for the season against Boston for the second time in three years.
The two teams played at Nationals Park in 2010, as well, as part of a home-and-home exhibition to end the spring. The Nationals finished their Florida schedule with a road game against the Red Sox in Fort Myers, before playing host to them the next night at Nationals Park.
When the Nationals hosted Boston in 2010, they sold tickets for the game with the rest of their regular season single-game tickets, and included the game for half price in their season ticket packages. The team hasn’t announced what it plans to do with tickets for the 2012 game, but it would seem likely they’d do something similar.
Washington opens its 2012 regular season two days later at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.
