You know, I never complain about the weather in spring training for two reasons:
1) It's almost always better than what's going on in D.C. on a given day, and
2) Because I'm from Minnesota, people in the Mid-Atlantic give me no leeway to complain about weather whatsoever. But it's currently in the low 50s, with a 25-mph wind whipping across Space Coast Stadium. In Florida. Just sayin'.
Anyway, a quick bit of housekeeping to start the morning: Jim Riggleman said Josh Willingham, whose wife had a baby, and Cristian Guzman, whose wife is expecting, are both away from the team on excused absences.
He said he hadn't seen Adam Kennedy or Elijah Dukes yet, but Kennedy was at Nationals camp on Tuesday. Dukes hasn't been seen at Nationals camp yet, but a team spokesman had said earlier in the week that he's in town.
Most position players are away from camp this morning getting physicals, and pitchers and catchers will have a normal workout today (with Stephen Strasburg's bullpen session certain to be the highlight).
The first full-squad workout will be tomorrow.
