Score another one for the Florida rain: The Nationals canceled their game with the Yankees on Friday morning, bowing to the weather long before players even had a chance to take the field. As was the case yesterday, fans can exchange their tickets for a ticket to another home game in the 2010 spring schedule.
Jim Riggleman hadn't decided what he was going to do with his pitching matchups quite yet, but Scott Olsen is still slated to throw tomorrow against the Astros. Stephen Strasburg is slated to start Sunday, but manager Jim Riggleman said it's possible Strasburg could get pushed back a day.
"Steve and I have got two or three different scenarios that could happen," Riggleman said. "Yesterday, we had guys throw simulated stuff in the cages. We may do more of that today. We may push things back to tomorrow. Steve and I will work out a schedule for our pitchers later today, and that's the most important thing."
The Nationals did make a pair of roster moves this morning, sending catcher Devin Ivany and first baseman Josh Whitesell to minor-league camp. With the moves, their spring roster has been trimmed to 51 players.
