A couple housekeeping items

I'm hacking away at a game story right now, and will have that for you in a few minutes. But in the meantime, I wanted to draw your attention to a couple things on the site:

--A number of you have asked about real-time commenting, where you can post on entries without the lag time from having to approve comments first, and I'm happy to tell you we're able to offer that now. When you post a comment, as you normally would, click the link that says "Sign in" right above the normal comment window. You can log in with one of a number of pre-existing accounts (Facebook, WordPress, Live Journal, Google, Yahoo, AOL, OpenID or Vox), and your comments will post automatically. You can stay signed in to the site to post automatically anywhere on it, too. Let me know if you have any questions about that, and tell me how it's working for you.

--Speaking of Facebook, I started a group on there today where you can get notifications about our in-game threads and share them with your friends. Just search for "MASN Nationals in-game threads with Ben Goessling," and join the group. I'll post a link to the in-game thread each day, and we'll see how that evolves as we go.

--If you're an RSS reader, my new RSS feed is here.

--We're kicking around an addition to the live thread that will pair it with our GameZone coverage from Stats, Inc., so you'll be able to get live box scores and stats on the same page where you talk about the game.

--Starting tomorrow morning, I'm going to roll out a new feature called "Second Look." It's going to be a standing spot for the Golden Geese and Goose Eggs that many of you have asked about, and I'm also going to incorporate some more analytical, insidery (to coin a phrase) stuff about the previous day's game. The Nationals-Phillies game from earlier today will be especially meaty, since there were a number of little moments in the game that you might have missed, but turned out to be extremely important for the Nats in winning 7-5. The feature might also have some points for general discussion, and you can bat those around during the day in the comments section.

Check out the new comments and let me know what you think. Back to the game story.
