The Nationals announced Jason Bergmann has cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse this afternoon. Bergmann, who was designated for assignment on April 15, had a 15.43 ERA in four games this season.
Washington had taken a few trade inquiries about the right-hander, but didn't strike a deal before having to put Bergmann on waivers. They'll send him to the minors and hope he can get more consistent as a reliever.
