Just a quick update on the get-together we're planning for Saturday (you can call it a tweetup if you want, but I don't want to make natsfan1a mad):
The plan is to watch the Nats-Marlins game at Crystal City Sports Pub starting at 7 p.m. We've got some space tentatively booked on the second-floor porch, where we can watch the game and hang out. I'm looking forward to grabbing some food and some drinks with all of you, talking some baseball and picking your brains on both the team and what you want to see from coverage here.
I've heard from a few of you that you're maybe, probably planning to come, but for those of you that haven't told me, a quick RSVP in the comments section would be a big help.
And if you're up for it beforehand, Nats communications manager Lisa Pagano is hosting a Kentucky Derby party from 3-7 p.m. at CCSP. She's a candidate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Woman of the Year award, and proceeds from the event go toward cancer research. Cover is $15, and there'll be beers, mint juleps, complementary desserts, prizes and more. You can read more here.
So to recap: Let me know if you can make it to watch the game on Saturday, and check out Lisa's shindig (is that Southern enough? Would hootenanny be better?) beforehand.
Looking forward to it.
