The Nationals lead the Cubs 3-2 at Wrigley Field in the fourth inning, with Luis Atilano's second big-league start not going quite as smoothly as his first one. But Adam Dunn just broke the tie with a solo homer to left on a 3-1 pitch off Ryan Dempster.
Atilano, who allowed one run in six innings in a win over the Dodgers last weekend, is throwing more breaking balls today than he did in his first start. He's hung a couple of them, and they've gotten him in trouble, leading to four hits in the first three innings for the Cubs. He looked like he was settling down in the third inning, getting two ground balls - one on a nice inside fastball to Aramis Ramirez that produced a jam shot.
The Nationals have never beaten Dempster, but have two homers today (from Dunn and Adam Kennedy).
