The Nationals lead the Dodgers 1-0 in the sixth inning here today, having scored the game's only run on an RBI groundout by Adam Dunn in the first inning.
Throughout the game, Scott Olsen has been sharp, throwing 62 strikes in 88 pitches thus far. He's struck out seven batters, only getting in trouble once (a bases-loaded jam in the first inning). Olsen said after his last start he was missing an out pitch, mostly because his slider wasn't effective. It has been today.
It was also a key outing for the Nationals' bullpen, which was stretched in Saturday's 13-inning game and needed Olsen to go deep in today's game. They'll have a chance to win this with their best relievers only needing to work an inning or so.
That's where we stand through six innings. We'll see if the Nationals can win the series and guarantee a winning homestand.
