Just wanted to give you an update on a project I'm working on (it's one I'm pretty excited about) and ask for a little help: In addition to covering the Nationals, I'm writing a children's book about the history of the team. It's intended for a fifth-grade audience, and isn't meant to be a definitive account of the Nationals/Expos' history, but in writing it, I do need to dig a ways back into the history of the Expos.
That's where you come in: Are there particular books you've come across that you've enjoyed about the Expos? I can obviously get all the basics from team media guides and online resources, but I want to find a few other accounts that get into more detail about the people and themes that made the Expos what they were. I've dug up a few ideas online, but many of those books are remarkably hard to find, or at least to borrow from the library.
I'd welcome any Nationals book ideas you have, too, but between Barry Svrluga's book and my own experience covering the team, I'm in pretty good shape there.
If you can post any ideas or suggestions you have in the comments, I'd be much obliged. Thanks for your help!
