Lineups from San Francisco

UPDATE AT 9:30 P.M. (FOR THOSE WHO CARE): It appears I've been lied to. It wasn't an "unusual runway configuration" at all. Barry O. was in town for an energy conference, and they couldn't give us the real reason why. I am continually amazed at how much work must go into any type of travel the president makes.

SAN FRANCISCO - I've been delayed by rain, I've been delayed by snow, I've been delayed by mechanical issues and I've even been delayed because they needed to rebalance the weight on a flight, according to the weight sensors being monitored in a room halfway across the country.

But I've never been delayed by an "unusual runway configuration" that essentially prohibited San Francisco International Airport from landing a fair number of the flights that were scheduled to touch down there this afternoon. Really, guys? Isn't the point of a runway to LAND your flights, instead of delaying them or putting them in a holding pattern?

Anyway, I'm finally here now, and true to San Francisco form, it's a cold, foggy night at AT&T Park for the first of three between the Nationals and Giants. The three-hour delay forced me to miss most of the pregame access, but apparently Nats GM Mike Rizzo told a few of my beat-writer colleagues that he's decided who he's planning to take No. 1 overall in the June 7 draft. He wouldn't say who, though. Gee, I wonder who that's going to be.

Here are the Nationals' and Giants' lineups for the 10:05 start:

Nationals:
Morgan, cf
Guzman, 2b
Zimmerman, 3b
Dunn, 1b
Willingham, lf
Bernadina, rf
Desmond, ss
Nieves, c
Hernandez, p

Giants:
Torres, rf
Renteria, ss
Sanchez, 2b
Sandoval, 1b
Huff, lf
Uribe, 3b
Molina, c
Rowand, cf
Wellemeyer, p

We'll have the live thread in about another hour, for all you night owls. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I'm going to need caffeine of some sort to get through this one, I think.
