Welcome to MASN's live thread for tonight's Nationals-Mets game at Nationals Park. I'll have updates and analysis throughout the game, and whether you're just watching the game on TV or following online, you can participate by commenting in this thread. Or, if you're on Twitter, you can tag tweets with #masnnats, and they'll be included in the chat.
If you want to participate in the chat via our Gamezone space, which includes live stats, matchup data, pitch tracking and more, head here. And if you're not into in the live chat experience, that's fine, too; I'll provide periodic updates below the chat window.
Thru 3: The Nationals are down 3-1 afrer three innings, after Luis Atilano put them in an early hole. He gave up three hits in the first inning, and the Mets got a break when Adam Dunn fielded Ike Davis' grounder, made a running toss to second and Ian Desmond had it go off the end of his glove. That kept two runners on base, and David Wright doubled both of them home. Atilano hasn't given up a run since, though, and the Nationals scored a run in the second inning. And they'll get the rest of the night against the Mets' bullpen; starter John Maine was removed for precautionary reasons after his velocity and delivery looked off in his bullpen session before the game. Maine pitched to one batter, presumably just to let the Mets get someone ready, and left the game. We'll see what the Nationals can do against the bullpen.
