We've played two innings at Nationals Park on Sunday, and they've gone just like the starts of the first two games in this Nationals-White Sox series: Chicago scored early, and the Nationals still look lost at the plate.
They've struck out three times in the first two innings, including a called strikeout for Ryan Zimmerman. He's fanned in five straight at-bats, four of those looking. Adam Dunn and Roger Bernadina also struck out in the second.
The White Sox have four hits off John Lannan, scoring their only run on a pair of singles in the first. Ian Desmond bobbled a throw from catcher Wil Nieves in the second and was charged with an error, but the Nationals finished that inning with a gorgeous 2-6-3 double play on Freddy Garcia's bunt.
Unless their offense wakes up, though, it won't matter.
