The reports about the Nationals' stance on trading Adam Dunn and/or Josh Willingham have struck a consistent tenor all month - the Nationals aren't going to part with either player for much less than a king's ransom in return. Consider this another report in that vein.
I've talked to a couple industry sources today who all say the Nationals are still in no hurry to move either Dunn (whose name has come up much more frequently in trade rumors) or Willingham unless they're presented with an offer they can't refuse. At least for now, according to one executive, that's still the Nationals' posture.
"They've got chips, and they're going to play them," the executive said. Another said it seems like Rizzo is going to wait until "he gets exactly what he wants."
With 11 days to go until the trade deadline, it'd be a surprise to hear the Nationals moving off their position this early. More as I get it.
