Nats call up Severino to replace Capps

After trading Matt Capps to the Minnesota Twins last night, the Nationals filled out their bullpen this afternoon, calling up right-hander Atahualpa Severino from Triple-A Syracuse to take his place.

The diminutive reliever, who stands just 5-foot-9, had a 3.55 ERA and 1.322 WHIP in 40 innings this year. He'll likely be used in middle relief as the rest of the Nationals bullpen takes on larger roles.
