Welcome to MASN's discussion space for today's Nationals-Reds game at Great American Ballpark. The Nationals are gunning for a split of the series, and you can talk about it right here by leaving your thoughts in the comments section. As a reminder, your comments will be approved automatically if you log in with a Facebook, Google, AIM, Yahoo or other third-party account. Just click the "log in" button next to the commenting window. Here is the Nationals' lineup for today:
Morgan, cf
Bernadina, rf
Zimmerman, 3b
Dunn, 1b
Guzman, ss
Harris, lf
Kennedy, 2b
Nieves, c
Hernandez, p
Update: The Nationals lead the Reds 6-1 in the sixth inning, and after going 23 innings without scoring a run, they've now scored 21 in their last 2 1/2 games. Go figure.
Nyjer Morgan, as I wrote this morning, is coming back into form this month, and he's continued it today. He's 1-for-2 with a walk, a run and three steals, running all over Reds catcher Ryan Hanigan and becoming the first player in franchise history to steal three bases in a game since Vladimir Guerrero did it in 2002. When he's this disruptive at the top of the lineup, the Nats' offense finds another gear.
Morgan, Adam Dunn's homer and contributions from the bottom of a makeshift lineup that includes Adam Kennedy and Wil Nieves have the Nationals well on their way to salvaging a split in the series.
