Morgan headed to DL

Outfielder Nyjer Morgan, who has been dealing with a strained hip flexor and underwent an MRI on Wednesday, will be placed on the 15-day DL, MASN's Debbi Taylor reported in the second inning of tonight's Nationals-Diamondbacks game.

Morgan, the team's center fielder and leadoff hitter, is hitting .261 this season with a team-high 29 steals and .322 on-base percentage. His trip to the DL means the Nationals will likely play the outfield some fans have been clamoring for - Roger Bernadina in center field and Michael Morse in right. They have used that combination in the last two games.
