Nationals jump on Hudson, lead Braves 2-0

So far, this is shaping up to be a momentous occasion indeed: The Nationals have an early lead on Tim Hudson.

The Braves pitcher has been one of the Nationals' most reliable tormentors; his worst start against them in his last four outings was a seven-inning, two-run performance in May, and he is 10-1 with a 1.49 ERA against them in his career. But tonight, the Nationals managed two runs off Hudson in the third inning, and they currently lead Atlanta 2-0. The biggest blow was a sharp single from Ryan Zimmerman on a Hudson sinker that ran in on him more than it sank. Zimmerman ripped it to left, scoring Willie Harris.

Hudson has given up five hits in three innings, also walking one. With Livan Hernandez on the mound, the Nationals have a chance to get a rare win against Hudson.
