The Nationals have crossed three of their four big-ticket draft picks off their list; the team just announced it has agreed to terms with Oviedo (Fla.) High School right-hander A.J. Cole, Washington's fourth-round pick in the First-Year Player Draft.
Cole, who had committed to the University of Miami, will receive a $2 million bonus, according to a team source. The bonus is the highest ever given to a fourth-round pick.
The 6-foot-5 right-hander already has a 94 mph fastball and a good out pitch with his slurve. Like 12th-rounder Robbie Ray, who agreed to terms earlier this evening, Cole probably would've gone higher if not for his college commitment.
