Stephen Strasburg's night is over, after 4 1/3 innings and an ugly start to the fifth inning. He gave up two doubles - though the second one could have been an error on Josh Willingham, who had it go off his glove as he retreated for it. But there were plenty of problems for Strasburg, who allowed six runs and six hits in his shortest - and worst - big-league start. The Marlins lead 7-1 in the fifth.
Strasburg's fastball lacked movement all night, and the Marlins' free-swinging lineup was able to tee off on it. He struck out four, but gave up more hard-hit balls than he has in any of his previous nine starts. He'll have a chance to rebound on Sunday, but he'll face a similarly aggressive lineup against the Diamondbacks.
Miguel Batista finished the fifth for the Nationals, walked three (though one was intentional) and gave up another run. The Nationals appear headed to their third straight loss.
