Strasburg solid through three, but error costly

The Nationals trail the Diamondbacks 3-1 after three innings, and though Stephen Strasburg has been solid on the mound, his error in the field has hurt them.

Strasburg has three strikeouts in three innings, but when he was trying to throw to first after fielding Stephen Drew's groundout, the ball slipped out of his hand and flew wildly over Adam Dunn's head. Mark Reynolds scored all the way from first, and Drew went to third before the Nationals could retrieve the ball. Strasburg also gave up a homer to Adam LaRoche on a 97-mph fastball.

The Nationals scored their only run in the second inning, when Josh Willingham doubled and Ivan Rodriguez drove him in. But they haven't been able to make Barry Enright throw many pitches; he's delivered just 35 times through three innings, and hasn't walked anyone. The Nationals have six flyouts against him, though, so they appear to be close to turning on one.
