Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, who was scratched from Thursday's game with strained intercostal muscles in his ribs, said after the game that the strain had been bothering him for several days, though he wasn't exactly sure when he did it or what caused it.
Manager Jim Riggleman said Zimmerman could miss a couple games to avoid a flare-up that might end Zimmerman's season and the third baseman said the strain was at a point where he had to be careful not to swing too hard.
"It's to the point now where we'll give it a couple days of rest, probably," Zimmerman said. "We'll see how I feel tomorrow, and go from there."
