Nationals trail Phillies 7-1

We're in the seventh inning here at Nationals Park, and through four homers by the Phillies' JV lineup against Ross Detwiler, the Nationals trail the Phillies 7-1 in their home finale.

Detwiler, making his final start of the year, allowed seven runs in 4 2/3 innings, grooving three fastballs and a changeup over the plate for the Phillies' four homers. It was hardly a convincing performance from the left-hander, who's still trying to elbow his way into position for a shot at the Nationals' rotation next year.

Washington's only run came in the fourth inning on Ian Desmond's RBI groundout. The Nationals have just three hits off the Phillies' Joe Blanton.
