Nationals team president Stan Kasten, who has been with the team since it was awarded to the Lerner family in 2006, has resigned from the team, according to a tweet from Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman.
Kasten, who came to the team after a decorated tenure with the Atlanta Braves, had been rumored to be considering his future options as the season draws to a close.
