Double-A Harrisburg, tied with Bowie for the final playoff spot in the Eastern League heading into Sunday, thumped Binghamton 13-3 tonight to take a one-game lead over the Baysox, who lost this afternoon. Assuming the Senators win, and either they win tomorrow or the Baysox lose, the Senators will be in the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
Ryan Tatusko, acquired in the July trade for Cristian Guzman, allowed a run on six hits in seven innings. He's about to get his 12th win of the season in the minors, and has a 1.71 ERA at Harrisburg. He could start at Triple-A Syracuse next year, and looks like he's got the potential to pitch in the majors in the near future.
Chris Marrero and Michael Burgess, two of the Nationals' top position player prospects, combined for four hits and five RBI tonight.
