As if things weren't going well enough for the Nationals here tonight, Willie Harris just took things to another level. He hit the second inside-the-park homer in Nationals history, blasting a 3-2 pitch to center off Kyle Farnsworth in the seventh inning.
Nate McLouth gave chase to the ball, but slammed hard into the center field wall as it bounced back, rather than playing it on one hop. As the ball scooted away from McLouth, Harris turned it up around second base, rounded third and slid headfirst into home. You could tell he was losing a little steam around third, and in the dugout, he looked like he was about to faint.
It's 7-1 Nationals in the eighth inning now.
