The Scottsdale Scorpions recorded a 9-1 win over the Mesa Solar Sox on Friday, but most of the work was done by players other than the three Nationals prospects who played in the game.
Infielder Stephen Lombardozzi had the best day of the trio, going 1-for-3 with a pair of walks and two runs. He also turned a couple double plays at shortstop, and recorded a double for his only hit. Lombardozzi had been slumping in the AFL, but turned things around on Friday partially with his ability to draw a walk.
Outfielder Michael Burgess started in right field, and went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. And pitcher Brad Peacock threw two innings in relief, allowing a run on two hits while striking out one.
