The Nationals just announced details for the unveiling of their new uniforms, which will come Nov. 10 in an invitation-only event at Nationals Park. Tyler Clippard, Ian Desmond, Ivan Rodriguez, Drew Storen, Ryan Zimmerman and Jordan Zimmermann are all scheduled to be in attendance.
DC Sports Bog wrote yesterday that the new uniforms are expected to do away with the block "NATIONALS" font on the home jerseys, replacing it with a script "Nationals." Frankly, I think that'd be a welcome change; I'm not a fan of the block lettering on the current jerseys, especially with the gold trim.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see the red uniforms more at home; the Nationals wore them more frequently last year than in previous years, because the Lerner family likes red, as it was told to me. If they went with some version of this, I wouldn't mind. It's probably a little close to the Detroit Tigers, but it's a classic baseball look.
What are you hoping to see from the new jerseys? Let me know.
UPDATE AT 6:29 P.M.: Reader Lintyfresh85 passed along this link of a jersey design that's been floating around on the web; someone apparently purchased it in August, he said. Might this be what the new home unis look like? We'll have to see.
