VIERA, Fla. - Good morning from Viera, where the high today is projected to be 79. I'll pause for a moment so you can swoon.
Everybody good?
Now that we've got that out of the way - and I promise I won't do too much of it - let's get down to business. The Nationals have their first workout for pitchers and catchers today. And that, of course, means we'll likely get to see Stephen Strasburg throw a baseball for the first time since that fateful changeup he offered to the Phillies' Domonic Brown last August.
Strasburg started throwing in San Diego earlier this month, and has begun a throwing program to get back from Tommy John surgery. He probably won't be doing much - he certainly won't be throwing bullpen sessions like some of the other pitchers - but he'll work out, and he'll meet with the media early this afternoon.
By the looks of things, everyone seems to know it, too; a handful of TV crews, some from Washington, some from Asia, have descended on Space Coast Stadium, to chronicle the team's (and Strasburg's, or Chien-Ming Wang's) first workout.
I'll have more from Strasburg, Jim Riggleman and others later this morning.
