Good morning, everyone. I'm back in Northern Virginia, where it's become quickly apparent I'm going to need to get reacquainted with my jacket.
Opening day is tomorrow, and as many people are in the business of doing this time of year, we're going to make some predictions about the season. But before I put mine out there for your consumption, I'd like to hear from you, if you wouldn't mind troubling me with a few of your thoughts.
Here's what I'd like: Cut and paste the blank form below, and fill in your answers in the comment section. We'll track the winners throughout the season.
NL East champion:
NL Central champion:
NL West champion:
NL wild card:
NL MVP:
NL Cy Young Award:
AL East champion:
AL Central champion:
AL West champion:
AL wild card:
AL MVP:
AL Cy Young Award:
NLDS: For example, just write, "Phillies over Reds, Giants over Braves." Or, if you're the optimistic sort, "Nationals over Reds, Giants over Braves."
NLCS: Same thing.
ALDS: See above.
ALCS: I think you know the drill by now.
World Series: Give me a winner, loser and how many games the series will go; for example, "Giants over Rangers in six," or "Nationals over Red Sox in four" for the rose-colored glasses crowd.
That seems pretty straightforward, right? Leave your answers below, and since half the fun of these things is debating them, have at it. I'll post my picks later in the day.
