VIERA, Fla. - Ryan Zimmerman will test his sore left groin by hitting today, but Nationals manager Jim Riggleman still isn't sure when his third baseman will be ready to play in a game.
Complication Riggleman's decision is the scheduled off day Wednesday, the Nationals' lone one of the spring.
"We've just got to make a determination: Do I play him before the off day, then take the day off and play, or do we just wait until after the off day," Riggleman said in his Sunday morning briefing with reporters. "I'm just going to listen to the trainers on that one and they'll tell me when to use him."
Zimmerman hasn't played since Monday.
