We're headed into the top of the seventh at Nationals Park, and the Nationals' bullpen has just been entrusted with hanging onto a lead over the Brewers that has been cut to a run. Rickie Weeks' homer in the fifth inning, which banged off the back wall of the Brewers' bullpen, made the score 3-2, and the Nationals weren't able to do anything else against Chris Narveson after taking advantage of his wildness early.
Tom Gorzelanny finished the night with his first quality start of the year, allowing two runs in six innings. He threw just 85 pitches, but with Tyler Clippard, Drew Storen and Sean Burnett all available, it makes just as much sense to roll with the three relievers as it does to try and stretch Gorzelanny into the seventh.
Michael Morse, who's been slumping early this year, has two hits tonight, including a ground-rule double to right in the sixth inning. But he was lifted for pinch runner Laynce Nix, with manager Jim Riggleman gambling he's gotten enough offense to win the game. We'll see if he's right.
