BALTIMORE - Nationals manager Jim Riggleman has been ejected from a game for the second time this season, and it's tough to imagine he'll ever get tossed from a game quicker than this.
Riggleman charged out of the dugout after first base umpire Gerry Davis called Roger Bernadina out for bunting the ball from outside the batter's box, reversing the center fielder's leadoff bunt single. Home plate umpire Todd Tichenor tossed Riggleman after the first at-bat of the game, and Riggleman stayed on the field to argue the call some more with Tichenor before heading to the visiting clubhouse.
And the call quickly came back to hurt the Nationals. Ian Desmond - who watched the argument from the on-deck circle with his arms in the air - launched a double over center fielder Adam Jones' head on the next at-bat. Had Bernadina been on base, the Nationals would probably be up 1-0 right now. Instead, the game is scoreless in the bottom of the first.
