PHILADELPHIA - We're headed into the eighth here at Citizens Bank Park, and the two runs the Nationals scored against Roy Halladay look like they might be all the 2010 Cy Young winner lets them have. He retired 11 in a row to end his evening, has 10 strikeouts for the night and the Phillies lead the Nationals 7-2.
Raul Ibanez, again, has killed the Nationals tonight; he added an upper-deck homer against Todd Coffey to his double against John Lannan, and just singled off Henry Rodriguez. He's homered 14 times against the Nationals since the start of 2009, and has seven hits, including two homers in the series after coming in on an 0-for-34 slump (seriously, the Nationals should just stop pitching to him).
The Nationals are about to lose for the 30th time in their last 39 games at Citizens Bank Park, and any talk of the gap between these two teams being closed should be halted. They'll have five losses in six games against the Phillies.
Antonio Bastardo will pitch the eighth for Philadelphia.
