SAN DIEGO - Once again, the Nationals didn't do much on offense on Friday night. But the way Jason Marquis and their bullpen pitched, they didn't need to.
Marquis took a no-hitter into the fifth inning, and gave up one run in six innings. Tyler Clippard pitched two scoreless innings, and Drew Storen struck out Nick Hundley looking to end the game, as the Nationals broke a two-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Padres.
Michael Morse hit a two-run homer in the second inning for the Nationals' only runs.
I'll have more from the clubhouse in a little bit.
