They've played six in Anaheim, and after the Nationals have mostly turned in pristine baseball games for the last two months, losing when they couldn't hit but winning otherwise, they've booted the ball around Angel Stadium tonight.
The Nationals have made four errors, including one from Ian Desmond that went for two runs and helped the Angels take the lead in the fifth inning. Ryan Zimmerman also made a throwing error, and Collin Balester - who had what might have been his worst outing of the year - made one on a pickoff play.
They trail Los Angeles 6-5 after six innings, and though they've knocked out starter Joel Piniero, they were unable to hang onto the lead after getting it on a Mark Trumbo error in the sixth.
Washington still has three innings to tangle with the Angels' bullpen, and for all their troubles, this is still a winnable game. But Jason Marquis wasn't sharp, Balester struggled in relief of him and the Nationals are giving the Angels plenty of charity to cancel out what they've received.
