The win streak is at eight.
The Nationals guaranteed themselves a series win - and a shot at a .500 record tomorrow - on Saturday afternoon, getting a pair of home runs from Ryan Zimmerman and Michael Morse and 6 1/3 innings from Jordan Zimmermann in a 4-2 win over the Orioles before 36,614 at Nationals Park.
The victory was the Nationals' eighth in a row, matching their second-longest since coming to Washington.
Zimmerman had his first homer since coming off the disabled list, and added a double in the sixth inning. With the game tied, Morse ripped a Brian Matusz changeup into the Nationals' bullpen in right field, putting the Nationals up for good.
The Nationals are now 35-36. They'll have a chance to sweep the Orioles tomorrow with Tom Gorzelanny on the mound.
More in a little bit.
