Nationals rally to beat Cardinals 8-6

On the night they got Ryan Zimmerman back in their lineup, the Nationals celebrated with one of their most stirring wins of the year.

Debbi Taylor catches up with Ryan Zimmerman following the Nats' 8-6 comeback win over St. Louis

The Nationals trailed 6-2 in the bottom of the seventh, when they surged for six runs, four of them coming with two outs, to take an 8-6 lead on the Cardinals. Laynce Nix drove in the go-ahead run with a walk at the end of an 11-pitch at-bat, during which he fouled off six of seven pitches. Things started when Ryan Zimmerman - who'd struck out and grounded into a double play in his first three at-bats - shot a double down the right field line to score Jayson Werth.

The victory gives the Nationals their fourth straight win, which ties their season high.

Tyler Clippard pitched a perfect eighth, and Drew Storen, after walking Ryan Theriot and intentionally walking Albert Pujols, got a comebacker to the mound off Lance Berkman for the final out.

Plenty more from the clubhouse in a while.
