Good afternoon from Nationals Park. Here are a couple of quick pregame notes; I'll have a little more before the game on Roger Bernadina's progress in center field and as a leadoff hitter.
* Ivan Rodriguez was just scratched from the Nationals' lineup with a right oblique injury; he was scheduled to hit seventh, but Wilson Ramos will play in his place and start for the third game in a row.
* Laynce Nix is out of the lineup again tonight, with his sore right Achilles tendon continuing to bother him. He "He keeps hitting balls off it, he's got bruises on his right foot and everything else," Johnson said. "He was real gimpy coming in before he hit the last time (last night)."
Johnson was planning to take Nix out of the game in the seventh inning anyway, to get Rick Ankiel in the game and move Roger Bernadina to left field, but with his sore Achilles, Nix "made it easy," Johnson said.
