Nationals pull even with Phillies as game resumes

We're back under way at Nationals Park, with Roy Halladay having come out of the game after a 71-minute rain delay. And having survived last year's Cy Young winner, the Nationals wasted little time in tying the game.

Danny Espinosa, who drove in his first run since July 17 earlier today, also hit his first homer since that day, blasting a solo shot to right-center off Fairfax, Va., native Michael Schwimer, a St. Stephen and St. Agnes School graduate who's making his major league debut today in front of friends and family. The shot tied the game at 3, and took Chien-Ming Wang off the hook for a loss.

The Nationals have been burned by the timing of rain delays a few times, but this one might have broken exactly in their favor; it was just long enough to get Halladay out of the game and force the Phillies to get three innings out of their bullpen.

Washington will use Todd Coffey for the seventh, and hope it can take the lead in time to get the ball to Tyler Clippard and Drew Storen.
