Welcome to today's silly saga involving the Nationals, Dodgers and rain. Here's the latest:
The Dodgers tweeted shortly after 1:30 p.m. that the game was called, and a number of Nationals players left the park, thinking there would be no game today and a doubleheader tomorrow. The Nationals are saying at this point that no decision has been made.
But short of a couple players who came to Nationals Park to throw, the Dodgers haven't shown up at Nationals Park, and they're reportedly still at their hotel.
The grounds crew is currently getting the field ready for baseball, and despite a foreboding forecast, they're apparently still hopeful of getting a game in tonight. We'll keep you posted as things develop.
Update: Tonight's game has been postponed and will be made up as part of a single-admission doubleheader beginning at 1:05 p.m. Thursday. Both games will air on MASN/MASN HD.
