The Nationals will try to win for the second time in their four-game series against the Mets tonight with Chien-Ming Wang on the mound. If they win the series, they'd be a game behind New York for third place in the National League East. And if they can sweep the series, they'd be a game ahead.
On another note, Major League Baseball announced the nominees for the Roberto Clemente Award today, and Ian Desmond is the Nationals' candidate for the award. Desmond has been among the Nationals' most active players in the District, working with children at several baseball camps in underserved neighborhoods and attending the groundbreaking of the team's youth baseball academy in May.
