Stephen Strasburg warming up (game under way)

We're about 15 minutes away from game time, and all systems are still go for Stephen Strasburg's return to the majors. The right-hander is warming up, the skies are currently dry and the tarp is off the field. It could get delayed at some point, but it appears Strasburg will start.

(Reader Emmi1966 gave me this space shuttle metaphor on Twitter, and I like it. It's actually kind of apropos, and Strasburg spent his summer working out on Florida's Space Coast, after all. So I'm going with it.)

Anyway, assuming Strasburg starts the game, it also means his second start would likely stay on schedule and be at Nationals Park on Sunday. The Nationals have planned for all of Strasburg's starts this month to be at home, and one way or the other, it looks like the second one will be here, as well. He might only throw an inning tonight before a rain delay, but that would probably be enough to keep him on an every-fifth-day schedule.

We'll have more throughout the night, so check back for details. But Strasburg is in the bullpen, and all systems are go for launch.
